Robot Quartet

Briefing

I designed a quartet of four cards featuring robots in Adobe Illustrator. On the front side, each card displays a different robot illustration, while the back side features a self-designed pattern. For this project, I applied all the skills I had previously learned. The assignment served both as a practice opportunity and as a contribution to my portfolio. The final result was printed at the Makerspace.

Concept

My robots are based on my own sketches, which I used as a starting point to develop their personality and form. I then refined these sketches and transformed them into digital illustrations in Adobe Illustrator.

Motivation

I chose this design because it combines technology and nature in a playful and approachable way. The robotic animals represent innovation, creativity, and the idea that technology can be friendly rather than intimidating. By giving the robots soft shapes, expressive faces, and bright colors, the design feels welcoming and engaging, especially for a younger or creative audience.

The honeycomb and bee pattern was chosen to symbolize community, teamwork, and productivity. Bees work together in an organized system, much like how technology and people collaborate to create solutions. The geometric hexagon shapes also connect visually to engineering and structure, reinforcing the technological theme.

Overall, this design reflects a balance between mechanical precision and organic life, showing that technology can coexist harmoniously with nature while still being fun, colorful, and imaginative.
